Obituary

Thomas J. Kirby, Sr 83 of Philadelphia passed away on December29, 2020. Beloved husband of the late Mary T. Smart Kirby. Loving father of Thomas J. Kirby, Jr. (Linda), Michael Kirby (Cheryl) and Dawn M. Romano (Bruce) Grandfather of Rebecca, Owen, Gregory, Stefan, Derek (Danielle), Nicole (William) and Tyler. Great grandfather of Bradley, Aiden and Emma. Dear brother of Ronald Kirby, Patricia Cole and the late Mildred Ginther and William Kirby

Daddy was a loyal husband and Dad to his children who made many sacrifices in the family. He loved his wife Mary ( Bunny ) dearly, his children and relatives. He loved and enjoyed all types of sports, especially the Eagles. He was a big fan of Vince's Pizza. It was important to my Dad to thank Jesus before every meal. Although we will miss him greatly and our times together, Cheryl and I know he is In Jesus's arms.

As a young man, Dad Loved playing volley ball at Torresdale Swim Club and Benjamin Rush middle school. He liked to unwind reading the paper and relaxing in his chair after a hard day at work. Dad and Mom appreciated watching sports on television. Dad and Mom had a trailer at Ocean View campground where they loved relaxing, sitting at the lake, and hanging out with family. When it was time for Dad to move into my home, he most enjoyed Linda serving dinner to us as we discussed sports and current affairs every night. He was amused with his television programs and disliked when the cable went out. He appreciated the mandatory three times a day exercise program we did with him. He took pleasure in hearing about the goings on of Rebecca and Owen and looked forward to seeing their smiling faces.

Daddy loved spending time with his great grandson Bradley playing legos and hot wheels and wheel chair races. He enjoyed his time outside on the back deck enjoying the sunshine during the day and fire pit at nighttime. Whatever Daddy needed Bruce made it very accessible no matter what time of the day it was ! Daddy enjoyed his weekend time with Nicole, Bill and Tyler watching game shows and enjoying take out food. He enjoyed every moment with the time he could get with Derek and Danielle for holidays and birthdays. Roxy will miss her sweet treats from her Poppy!
