Obituary

James Patrick Naples passed away on December 5, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years Anna May (nee Pyffer), his sister, Rosemarie Lindsay (John), brothers Michael J. (Linda) and Joseph (Kara). Also surviving are his nieces and nephews, Rosemarie Lindsey, John Lindsey, Michael Lindsey, Cecily Naples, Natalia Naples, Paul J. Kornacki, Douglas Kornacki, Shawn Kornacki, Elizabeth Koslosky, Annette Nespola, Harry Pyffer, Lori Young, Debbie Dyer, Christine Webster, Bobby Dyer, John Dyer, his dear cousin Theresa O'Brien and his faithful and loyal companion Coco.
Jim was born and raised in Port Richmond. Jim was a graduate of North Catholic High School class of 1965. He served in the United States Marine Reserves and became a Philadelphia Firefighter in 1969. He served on the Fire department for thirty- five years. During this time, he was elected Vice President of Local 22 Union 1982-1984. He worked at Fire Station Engine 2, Ladder 3 for many years. He transferred to Engine 14, Ladder 15 where he retired from in March 2004, Jim was active Runner attending many Marathon runs along with 5k runs. He ran Marathons all over United States including twice the Boston Marathon. His passion for running continued until his illness. He along with his brother formed the well-known run in Sea Isle every year for the fallen firefighter from the Gulf Oil fire. The run continued for forty years. In later years his passion changed to golfing along with his friends and his fellow retired firefighters. He was known during his life for being a great Athlete, being baseball, Football, bowling and darts. Enjoying his travels throughout United states and his joy and happiness finally seeing Italy where his Father's family came from. In later years enjoying winter months in Naples Florida, along with his wife Ann and his loving dedicated pet Coco. Many will always remember Jim for being the life of the party. He loved to Sing to everyone and his many dance routines. His house parties will always live on, as the best party in town, along with so many family and dinner parties. Jim will be remembered being a loving Husband, Son, Brother, Uncle and friend. He was always available to help when anyone was in need. During his fourteen months of fighting cancer he stayed positive and hopeful there may be a cure. His faith in God helped him every day along with his daily St. Jude prayers. He was called home and now at peace with no longer being in Pain. God bless you………….
Relatives and friends are invited to share in Jim's Life Celebration Friday, December 11, 2020, starting 12:00 noon followed by his memorial mass 1:30 PM at the church of St. Christopher, 13301 Proctor Rd., Phila, PA 10116.
