Obituary

Gloria Ann Mills was born on October 21, 1943 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was the eighth of ten children born to Milton and Clara "The Boss" Jones.

Gloria was affectionately known as "Bubbles."

She was educated in the Philadelphia School System and started her education at the George Wolf School and then moved on to Simon Gratz High School.
She was later employed by Sears, Roebuck, & Company where she worked with her older sister Marie. Later she received clerical training and worked as a clerical assistant for Fresenius Kidney Care until her retirement.

Bubbles met and then married Raymond Mills, Jr. (who preceded her in death). To this union they were blessed with three children: Marilyn, Raymond, III. "Ray-Ray," and Barbara "Barbie" (who preceded her in death).

Back in the day Bubbles enjoyed playing the 'oldies but goodies' on the "Hifi," reminiscing, laughing and visiting with friends and family. One of her favorite sayings was "it ain't nothin' but a party."

During her retirement years, Bubbles enjoyed cruising the seas with her eldest sister, Marie (who preceded her in death). They traveled the Caribbean and sampled various types of cuisine. She loved to talk about the great buys she found on her vacations.

She later welcomed into her home and dedicated her time to caring for her beloved fur baby, Rico, named after her youngest brother Richard.

Bubbles is survived by her daughter, Marilyn, and son, Raymond, III.
Grandchildren Monique and Barry (Marilyn's children), Kelly (Raymond, III's daughter), Michael, (Barbie's son). Her great-grandchildren Darryl, Mone't, Marie, Vanessa, and Jeremiah.
She also leaves to mourn her sisters, Ethel "Soups" Williams, Gladys "Tootsie" Hardy, brothers, Lawrence "Lonnie" Jones and Alfred "Affie" Jones. A host of nieces and nephews who live across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, California, Florida, and Spain. As well as lifelong friends Hanna, Yvonne, and Valerie.
(Her siblings who preceded her in death Charles, Marie, Richard, James, and Donald)

Let Me Go

When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom filled room
Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little, but not for long
And not with your head bowed low
Remember the love that once we shared
Miss me, but let me go.

For this is a journey we all must take
And each must go alone.
It's all part of the master plan
A step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick at heart
Go to the friends we know.
Laugh at all the things we used to do
Miss me, but let me go.
